Design

I use my abilities as a designer to create functional, eye-catching content across mediums, from logos, to social media content, to web factsheets. I’m experienced across the Adobe software suite, and I’m always interested in fresh ideas and new projects.

Developing a new logo for Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy

Located just a few miles from my childhood home, Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy protects valuable natural acreage in the St. Croix River Valley. A quality logo can build a reputation and engage a community – and Standing Cedars needed an upgrade.

Before:

Standing Cedars’ old logo consisted of an elegant script. The logo was starting to show its age – with low resolution, no graphic identity, and no color options.

After:

I developed the new logo for Standing Cedars to scale at any size or application – from signs, to T-shirts, to websites and more. I created a graphic presence inspired by a photo from the natural area, and I updated the old script for smoother lines while preserving the character of the old visual identity.

I found success developing a visual identity for Standing Cedars thanks to my experience at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Visual Brand Magic: Building a System

Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Good design is a product of creativity and strategy. This class allowed me to develop my skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, and build an effective brand concept.

Every good brand relies on visual identity.

I developed this logo for a hypothetical conservation nonprofit. Using typography, artwork, and color schemes, I created an ecosystem of logos.

A good visual identity works in all situations. This logo is ready for color, black-and-white, print and digital.

Design wisely.

It’s more than just looking pretty. A brand needs a strategy to be successful, and I developed a framework to effectively use this logo and color scheme.

So pretty, you could put it on a shirt, or a water bottle, or a website.

You can see all of my work on this visual brand concept, including alternate logos, use-case mockups, creative briefs, and more in the final assignment packet here:
